Shavige Upma

Ingredients:
1. Vermicelli (Bambino etc) -1 cup
2. Vegetables: fresh green piece, potato, carrot – cut to 1/2 cup
3. Onion (optional) -1 small
4. Green chili – 1 or 2
5. Gated coconuts – 2 tsp
For seasoning:
1. Oil + Ghee – 4 tsp,
2. Mustard – 1 tsp
3. Black gram dal – 1 tsp
4. Red Chili – 2 pieces
5. Curry leaves – about 10
Method:
Half cook the vegetables and keep aside. In a pan put the seasonings, add curry leaves, green chilies when mustard splutters, and fry a little. Add vermicelli and fry for a minute. Now add the partially boiled vegetables and the boiled water about 1.5 cups. Cook this in medium flame till the water evaporates. Garnish with 1 tsp of chopped coriander leaves and 2 tsp of grated coconuts.
