Bisi Bele baath

Ingredients:

1. Toor dal – 3/4 cup
2. Channa dal – 1 tsp
3. Urad dal – 2 tsp
4. Coriander seeds – 1 tsp, Jeera – 1/2 tsp
5. Cloves(Lavanga) – 3
6. Cardamom(Elachi) – 1
7. Cinnamon(Dalchini) – 1 piece
8. Asafetida(Hing) – a pinch
9. Red chillies – 5 to 6
10. Jaggary – a small piece
11. Tamarind – little bit
12. Onion – 2, Tomato – 2
13. Rice – 1 cup
14. Vegetables – Potato, Carrot, Beans – 200 gms each

Method:

1. Fry Channa dal, Urad dal, Coriander seeds, Jeera, Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Asafetida, Red chillies    with 1 spoon of oil and grind in to a powder.
2. Cook toor dal, vegetables and rice separately.
3. Cut onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves, green chillies and keep aside.
4. Prepare tamarind juice and keep aside.
5. Take a big pan and heat about 2 tsp oil or ghee, add mustered seeds and urad dal. When mustered splutters add curry leaves.
6. Now add onion pieces and fry. Add about 6 cashew nuts. Add tomatoes and fry again till it becomes soft. Now add prepared powder and fry a little.
7. Add tamarind juice, small pieces of jaggary, salt, little water. When it boils add cooked dal and Vegetables. Boil this well. Add some more water if needed.
8. Switch off the stove and add rice, coriander leaves and mix well. Serve hot.
